Benchmark Electrical Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join their Service Department in Windsor, CO. Looking for a detail-oriented, Licensed Journeyman Electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and NEC code.
Position Overview
Capable of handling both commercial and residential projects. Must uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per job specs and local codes
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Troubleshoot and test systems using tools like voltmeters and oscilloscopes
- Inspect electrical systems for safety hazards and compliance issues
- Interpret blueprints and sketches to determine wiring locations
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
- Work from heights using ladders, scaffolds, or roofs
- Maintain a valid electrician’s license and regulatory documentation
- Advise management on potential electrical hazards
- Complete physically demanding tasks such as trench digging and lifting heavy objects
- Assist in evaluating and mentoring apprentices
- Work in ALL weather conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable MVR record (Required)
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of NEC code
- Excellent customer service, time management, and work ethic with an emphasis on safety
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Proficiency with smartphones and basic computer software
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional, clean appearance and demeanor
- Effective communication with customers and team members
- MUST be dependable and on time every day
- Technical Degree from apprentice electrician trade school (preferred)
- 5 years electrical troubleshooting experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding
- Lift and carry up to 80 lbs
- Apply pushing or pulling force over 100 lbs
- Work in high or confined spaces
- Work in all outdoor weather conditions (extreme heat/cold, rain, ice, high winds)
- Exposure to construction environments and debris
- Wear employer-provided PPE and comply with all safety requirements
- Occasional overtime, weekends, and/or holidays or on-call
