Two weeks into his electrical career, Dave Aguiar asked himself a question that would shape the rest of his life:

“Why spend a lifetime building someone else’s company when you could build your own?”

At the time, he was just beginning his journey in the electrical trade. Yet even then, he knew he wanted more than a career. He wanted to build an organization that would create opportunities for others, establish a higher standard of excellence, and leave a lasting impact on the industry.

That vision stayed with him for more than sixteen years. Throughout his career, Dave immersed himself in every aspect of the electrical contracting business. He learned the trade from the ground up, developed his leadership skills, and gained experience managing complex projects and teams.

More importantly, he spent those years observing, listening, and learning what it takes to build a successful company.

When Benchmark Electrical Solutions was founded in 2008, it was built on a simple idea: set the standard and never stop raising the bar.

The name Benchmark reflects that commitment.
