Benchmark Electrical Solutions is seeking an experienced, licensed Journeyman Electrician for governmental and hospital electrical work in Oklahoma. Projects include commercial, industrial, and hospital installations at VA Hospital locations.
Position Overview
Positions available at Muskogee VA Hospital (Coweta, OK) and OKC VA Hospital (Oklahoma City, OK). Hospital experience preferred. Some positions may require Davis Bacon Prevailing Wage + fringe.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical systems and components including control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, and switches
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Replace fuses and breakers in both high- and low-voltage circuits
- Repair and maintain motors and generators
- Connect and disconnect electrically powered machinery and equipment
- Mentor apprentices by promoting quality workmanship and safety practices
- Work effectively in all weather conditions and environments
Qualifications
- Oklahoma Journeyman Electrician License or reciprocating state (Required)
- Hospital experience preferred
- Technical or trade school degree preferred
- Strong work ethic and safety-first mindset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- 4 years electrical experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding
- Lift and carry up to 60 lbs
- Apply pushing or pulling force over 100 lbs
- Work in high or confined spaces
- Perform duties in all outdoor weather conditions
- Wear employer-provided PPE
- Occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays required
